About Me

Hi, I’m Briony — a film producer and director from Dartmoor, UK.

I create wildlife and expedition documentaries in some of the world’s most remote and breathtaking environments, specialising in both ‘blue-chip’ animal behaviour and people-led stories.

Recent work includes the Emmy Award-winning Our Great National Parks narrated by former President Barack Obama (Netflix); Predators: Wild Dog (Sky Nature); and Expedition with Steve Backshall (BBC/UKTV). My work spans character-driven wildlife stories, observational and presenter-led documentaries, archive formats and live broadcasts. A selection of my projects and credits can be found here.

Through engaging and informative storytelling, I make films that inspire audiences to love, protect and reconnect with the natural world. I believe a connection with the wild is an intrinsic part of who we are and there’s a fire that burns a little brighter inside me when I experience this feeling firsthand, whether I’m far from home or in my local park.

With a background in Anthropology, I bring nuance and curiosity to stories that explore our relationship with a changing planet and illuminate our place within it.

Across 20+ international shoots, I’ve been fortunate to document life in environments ranging from some of Earth’s most extreme locations to major cities, including critically endangered Decken’s sifakas leaping across Madagascar’s Tsingy rock pinnacles; Arabian leopards in Oman; sharks on remote South Pacific reefs; Yellowstone’s winter wildlife at –35°C; wild dogs hunting in Zimbabwe’s savannah; and otters thriving in downtown Singapore.

At the heart of it all is a love of emotive storytelling and a commitment to contributing to our understanding of the natural world. Collaborating on filming expeditions that have led to new scientific discoveries has been especially meaningful.

Alongside producing and directing, I enjoy self-shooting, sound recording and taking still photographs (see a selection of my stills here), and have occasionally popped up on-screen in behind-the-scenes sequences.

Beyond filmmaking, I mentor emerging natural history talent through ScreenSkills, Wildscreen and Jackson Wild.

I bring stories to life, from original concept to final edit.
