Latest Productions

Our Wild Waters

(Netflix) Wild Space Productions
Producer/Director - Episode 1, Title TBA

I produced and directed the opening episode of this brand new series, coming soon on Netflix.

I can’t say too much more about this one until it’s released, but I’m excited to share more soon - watch this space!

Predators

(Sky/Netflix) True to Nature
Director / Assistant Producer - Wild Dog

Narrated by Tom Hardy, this series follows five apex predators across the globe - cheetahs, lions, polar bears, pumas and wild dogs - as they face unprecedented challenges and fight to secure a future for the next generation in a rapidly shifting world.

I spent 9 weeks, across multiple shoots, following an extraordinary pack of wild dogs in Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe. Witnessing the new pups emerge from their natal den, to see their world for the very first time, is something I’ll never forget!

We followed the pack as they raised their pups, hunted impala and faced threats from lions and hyenas, using innovative filming techniques including the Agito: a buggy capable of supporting a fully stabilised RED camera. Filming also involved Shotover vehicles, long lens, drone and macro.

I also appeared in the ‘Making Of’ sequence at the end of the programme.

Our Great National Parks

(Netflix) Wild Space Productions & Higher Ground
Director / Assistant Producer - A World of Wonder

Narrated by former President Barack Obama, this series emphasises how vital protected areas are both for us and the incredible species that call them home.

I worked across the opening episode, A World of Wonder, from the outset, finding the best stories to include and then directing shoots both on location and remotely during the Covid pandemic.

A highlight for me was directing the sequence about a family of critically endangered Decken’s Sifakas crossing the precipitous limestone pinnacles of the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in Madagascar. Check out the trailer to see a few of the shots! We were the first film crew permitted to camp inside the National Park itself, which felt very special - going to sleep in my tent at night with tiny mouse lemurs leaping through the trees above was incredible!

Read the Forbes article about the series and some of my experiences here.

(BBC/UKTV) True to Nature
Edit Producer / Assistant Producer - Series 1
Oman: Desert Fortress & Bhutan: White Water

Expedition with Steve Backshall

This series follows naturalist presenter Steve Backshall and an elite team of explorers as they venture into the unknown in search of new discoveries and unique wildlife encounters.

I worked across two episodes: Bhutan: White Water and Oman: Desert Fortress. I shot second camera on location (for the main series itself as well as the ‘Expedition Unpacked’ behind-the-scenes series that followed). I also edit produced the Oman: Desert Fortress episode.

Checking our camera traps at the end of the shoot and finding images of the elusive Arabian Leopard (some of the last individuals remaining in the world) was a dream come true and really cemented my passion for remote camera-trapping as a way to reveal the secret lives of animals.
